This robot grew out of miniPionier — plus the urge to build something for the school robotics lab with a mobile camera. After Pathfinder this felt like the natural next step. On top of that, the lab had plenty of unused RS232 radio modems and cameras lying around.
All of those parts need at least 12V, so a gel battery is unavoidable — and that brings the usual weight problem back.
One new idea was to add the long-overdue ability to dock the robot for charging. In Sentinel this is done with a relay paired with a microcontroller voltage measurement.
